Last updated: January 1, 2026
Summary: Use Cutlock legally and professionally. Do not upload illegal content. Pay for what you use. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms. These terms are governed by Polish law.
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using Cutlock ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including freelancers ("Users") and their clients who access delivery links ("Recipients").
The Service is operated by Jakub Bandzarewicz, a sole proprietor based in Żory, Poland. Public contact email: jacob@voidx.pl.
2. The service
Cutlock provides a platform for delivering digital files to clients with payment gating, watermarking, and review functionality. We provide:
- File upload, storage, and delivery infrastructure
- Automatic watermark generation for previews
- Payment link generation using your own payment provider accounts
- Client review and commenting tools
- Subscription plan management
3. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Each account is for one individual or legal entity and is not transferable. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent subscription limits, obtain multiple free trials, or evade account suspensions.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Cutlock to:
- Upload, store, or deliver illegal content including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that incites violence or terrorism, or content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
- Upload malware, viruses, or other malicious code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the platform
- Resell or sublicense access to the platform without our written permission
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Use the service to send unsolicited commercial communications or spam
- Circumvent any rate limits, storage limits, or other technical restrictions
5. Your content
You retain full ownership of all files and content you upload to Cutlock. By uploading content, you grant Cutlock a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, transcode, watermark, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and deliver the content you store on Cutlock. We are not responsible for intellectual property disputes arising from content you upload.
We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law without notice.
6. Payment and subscriptions
Platform subscription (your plan)
Cutlock subscription fees are billed through Polar, our Merchant of Record. All pricing is displayed in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. By subscribing, you authorize Polar to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
The Trial plan is available once per email address. Attempting to obtain multiple free trials by creating multiple accounts is a violation of these Terms.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial periods unless required by applicable law.
Client payments (your clients paying you)
Payments from your clients are processed through your own Stripe, PayPal, Przelewy24, or Revolut account. Cutlock is not a party to those transactions. Any disputes between you and your clients regarding those payments are between you and your client. Cutlock has no liability for such disputes.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of payment providers complies with their terms of service and applicable financial regulations in your jurisdiction.
7. Data retention and account deletion
When you delete your account, your files and project data are permanently deleted within 30 days. Transaction records required for legal and tax purposes may be retained for 7 years.
If your subscription expires and your account is frozen, your data is preserved for 60 days. After that, data is permanently deleted. You will receive email warnings before deletion occurs where technically possible.
8. Intellectual property
The Cutlock platform, including its design, code, brand name, and logo, is owned by Jakub Bandzarewicz or licensed to Cutlock and protected by intellectual property law.
Cutlock is released under the Business Source License (BSL). You may self-host the software for personal and commercial use. You may not host Cutlock as a service for third parties without a commercial license. See github.com/cutlock/cutlock for details.
9. Service availability
We aim to provide high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible. We are not liable for damages resulting from service interruptions.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features of the Service with 30 days' notice for material changes that affect paid plan functionality.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cutlock and its operator are not liable for:
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- Damages arising from unauthorized access to your account
- Disputes between you and your clients
- Actions of third-party payment providers
- Content uploaded by users
In any case, our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cutlock and its operator from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in illegal activity, or pose a risk to other users or the integrity of the platform.
You may terminate your account at any time via Settings - Danger zone.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland. Any disputes shall be subject to the competent courts in Poland, unless mandatory consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also have the right to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
14. Changes to these terms
We will notify you by email at least 30 days before material changes to these Terms take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
